More Colorado Yurt Upgrades

  • Stovepipe Outlet - allows installation of a vent through the yurt wall for wood or gas stoves, composting toilet, or dryer. Includes two sheet metal plates precut to your pipe size and includes a cover for when the outlet is not in use. Your local stove retailer can help you choose the correct size. Give them the square footage of your yurt and tell them the ceiling is higher than a traditional ceiling. Also consider a stove with a thermostat if you go with gas. • Cistern - the roof valance (wider than the standard one-foot band at the bottom of the roof) forms a trough with custom-made stainless steel hardware. The trough catches rain water from the roof. We provide bulkhead fittings, to insert into the bottom of the trough, to drain the water. You provide piping and storage tank.
  • Handicap Access - levered doorknobs, grab bars, and tread-plate door thresholds are among the items available to create a barrier-free yurt.
