1) How big a tipi should you get?
Tipi sizes are roughly the diameter of the floor area. Check out sizing suggestions under Tipi Diameter Sizes below.

2) Do you want a package or components?
—Click on the “Build Your Tipi Package” section if you’re just starting out. You’ll get a tipi cover with a door flap and accessories—you can add poles, liner, ozan, and a floor cover—and you’ll get our package discount.
—Or click “Individual Tipi Components” if you don’t need a package because you’re adding to an existing tipi or you just want specific items.

Tipi Diameter Sizes

We offer 9 sizes of tipis. Choosing the right size comes down to how your tipi will be used. For backyard and ornamental tipis, the 12 to 16 foot sizes might be perfect; for guest rooms and entertainment space, consider an 18 to 22-foot diameter; and for year round living or for those who desire the roomiest tipi possible, consider our 24 to 28 foot options.

Basic Tipi Cover Package

Package pricing always starts with our Basic Tipi Cover Package, which includes a door flap, wood stakes, lacing pins and all necessary ropes-all bundled together in a canvas storage bag. Choose from 9 sizes in 3 quality fabrics.

- 13 oz. Sunforger, 100% cotton army duck, marine boatshrunk, water and mildew repellent. One year warranty.
- 13 oz. Sunforger, with flame resistant treatment. 13 FR is 100% cotton army duck, marine boatshrunk, water & mildew repellent. One yr. warranty.
- Our premier fabric is flame resistant, marine boatshrunk, water and mildew repellent. 15oz. Tuff-Star meets exceptional tear strength specs (283 lb. x 214 lb.). Cotton/poly army duck weave, with a durable acrylic coating - for even greater protection from sun, rain, dirt, pollution, and mildew. Five year manufacturer's warranty.

Poles - Next add poles and a liner to your Basic Package.

- Authentic peeled lodge pole in sets of premium lengths and quantities.
- For 24' and 26' tipis; poles extend above the tipi minimally. Stubby poles are large poles cut down to 27' for efficient, economical transport in 28' semi trucks.

Historically authentic details and custom elements enhance your tipi:

  • A painted tipi cover and liner make the tipi yours alone. Get creative at www.coloradoyurt.com/tipipainter. You can work with our artist to design & paint yours or to give you do-it-yourself tips. Call us at 800-288-3190 we're happy to help.
  • Hand sewn lacing pin holes are priced on request.
  • Deduct $20 for a cover ordered without a hem and peg loops.
  • When ordering a cover without a door opening, deduct $25.

The Fine Print

  • A 50% deposit confirms your order.
  • When we receive your deposit, we send you a receipt, showing the balance due, estimated freight charges and ship date.
  • Average time between order and ship dates is 4 weeks.
  • Allow extra transit time and shipping expense when ordering poles over 27' long.
  • We have negotiated favorable discounts with our shipping partners to keep freight costs low.
  • Canvas goods ship by FedEx Ground from Colorado.
  • Most poles ship by truck-line from our Montana pole yard.
  • Select poles are available at our Colorado shop (a nominal fuel surcharge applies).
  • Cancelled orders are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
